Technology Park Malaysia – The State of Future Talk: Future Issues of Science & Technology in Asean was jointly organized by Malaysian Foresight Institute and Algaetech International. More than 50 participants from various backgrounds attended the one day event.
With the title ‘Future Issues of Science & Technology in ASEAN Perspective, Opportunity in Technology (20 Years in Future)’, the talk was given by Mr Jerome C. Glenn, Director of the Millennium Project.
The Millennium Project is an independent non-profit global participatory futures research think tank of futurists, scholars, business planners, and policy makers who work for international organizations, governments, corporations, NGOs, and universities. It manages a coherent and cumulative process that collects and assesses judgments from over 2,500 people by its 40 Nodes around the world. The work is refined and presented in its annual “State of the Future” report.
During the talk, fifteen (15) global challenges; which are interdependent, were presented as one of the essential outcome of continuous works of discussions, debates, and updates done since past years under the project. Mr Glenn also shares his knowledge and insights on future challenges and invites the participant to join and contribute to the Millennium Project activities and initiatives.
At the end of the event, an interactive session was held. Views and opinion were exchanged in providing input on the description of the “State of the Future” programmes and update of the challenges as a continuous support to the initiatives
